Araceli Electric
Araceli Electric is about a young girl who lives mostly in her own world of imagination until she makes a friend--the character I play. Filming was so much fun. I got to act with Ashley, one of my acting classmates at Giovannie’s school. That’s Ashley and me with Susan, the director.
I also had a chance to do things I’ve never done before, like flying a kite. On my first day of filming, we met Susan and the crew at Cesar Chavez Park at the Berkeley Marina. In the movie, Araceli and Sam (Ashley and me) bond as friends while flying kites together.
Movie time
Below, Susan gives us flying lessons at the top of a hill. In the inset at bottom, I’m practicing my “butt boarding” for a scene filmed outside a house in Oakland. I get to ride by Ashley whose sitting on the steps ignoring my moves to get her attention. Being physical is part of being an actress, and so is the joy in learning new skills.
