Luna Bar Commercial
Acting in the Luna Bar commercial taught me a lot.  On day one I was up early and on scene by 6:30 am at a gorgeous house in the hills in Marin.  That’s where the tree house was--the one those bad boys didn’t let me climb in.  I worked hard with the director, Mr. Hassan, to show the right emotions in my body and my face.  Although I was featured in every scene, it was a non-speaking part so I had to communicate a lot through just my reactions.  I had to put on my “now-you’re-gonna-get-it” face (top right), my “we’ll-just-see-about-that” determined face (second photo), and my “how-could-you-be-so-mean-to-me” disappointed face (third photo).

On day two, we filmed in a park in San Francisco, on a street in San Francisco high on a hill, a hardware store just outside the city, and a residential neighborhood in San Bruno.  In the second photo from bottom, I’m getting ready to walk across the  intersection of 18th Street and Vermont in San Francisco. It’s a busy street, so the crew blocked it off from traffic while the cameras rolled.

In the far bottom photo, Mr. Hassan, the director, coaches me on how fast to walk as the crew dollies the camera.

After two days of outdoor shooting in several locations, I learned quickly about the down time actors have in between shots.  I also learned the meaning of “back to 1” because Mr. Hassan had me do a lot of takes for certain scenes to make sure everything was just right.  Walking around in those silver heeled shoes sure made my feet ache after a long day of filming.

Funniest  moment of the shoot:  The little red wagon I hauled around for two days fell apart on the very last shot of filming. The handle detached and the wheels went flying.  There’s one for the out-take reel!

Best actor’s contribution:  In the script, teddie doesn’t wear the safety goggles, but Mr. Hassan liked my suggestion, so teddie got to look cool in goggles as he rode around in the cart.  Mr. Hassan gave me the goggles as a memento from the shoot, so now teddie can wear them any time he wants!
